A Close Shave
February 23, 2010 by Janet7
Scraping a metal blade is one of those activities that men endure, rather than look forward to. And for hundreds of years a metal blade of varying sharpness scraped across the face has been the way it was done.
Times have changed since then, of course, and you can now find a new line of electric shavers which comes with an improved facial cream emulsion that makes shaving even more comfortable. When you have less irritation on your skin, you feel better. You look better too.
One range of electric shavers offers a Flex Tracker System. The tracker system automatically traces the contours of your face helping to protect against skin irritation. For those hard to reach curved areas of the face you want maximum skin contact and flex tracker offers just that. The flexing mechanism gives the head section of the shaver the ability to tilt forward and backward. That grips the hair firmly by the roots, which gives a closer shave.
Glide Rings
Glide Rings help the shaver move smoothly over your face. With a reduced friction while moving over your skin, the glide rings truly help the cutting surface to glide smoothly over your face. The Philips HS8060 Nivea Moisturizing Shaving System offers a glide ring system that moves smoothly over the contours of your face.
The HS 8060 also has an integrated cartridge refill system. Just by pumping the shaving conditioner from the refill can you can ensure a continuous supply of moisturizing, smooth shave producing coverage.
There are many information sites online giving information about the HS8060 .
Philips HS8060 Nivea Moisturizing Rotary Shaving System saves you time and energy because you don’t have to apply any moisturiser on you face prior to the shave. Wet your face and press the shaving conditioner button. The shaver’s cutting surface will then glide smoothly across your skin.

I have a Philips…I don't know the model number, but it's an Ambilight LCD flat-screen TV. I have another Phlips TV.
What menu options do you have? Is there one that says something like "language" or "features"? On mine you click on "features," and you can turn on/off the closed captioning from there.
If that doesn't help, I recommend either calling Philips (the only number I saw was a (212) phone number on their website) or going to this website:
This is Philips' support webpage and has information on various models. Since you know your model number, it may help. You can also e-mail them for help, but IDK how long it would take for a response.
I hope you figure it out soon — good luck!
P.S. I looked at my other Philips after I posted this the first time, and I think it might be one like yours. The only way you can turn the captioning on and off is through the remote. Maybe you could try a universal remote.

Hey dude, sorry if this is unrelated to Mega Man (same goes for all of you. My apologies), but you mentioned that you have a 360 controller for this. Is it the wired one, or wireless?

I bought a few jars of Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes at Costco yesterday (only $7.99 for a 2 pound jar). This morning I let most of the oil drain out of the tomatoes while I fixed breakfast and then I put all of the drained sun-dried tomatoes into the workbowl of my Cuisinart (11-inch size) fitted with the metal blade, added whatever herbs I still had in the garden — plenty of basil, a little oregano and a bunch of tyme — and pressed the “on” button. While the food processor was processing the mixture, I poured some exta virgin olive oil through the feed tube. When the consistency was what I wanted, I stopped pouring in the olive oil. I was able to fill 2 silicone mini muffin tins with the sun-dried tomato and herb mixture — making a total of 24 (filled to the brim) flavor cubes (muffins). Then I popped the 2 muffins tins into the freezer. Later today I'll pop the cubes (muffins) out of the muffin tins and place them into one or two freezer bags which I'll keep on hand in my freezer for use whenever something I'm cooking needs a little tomato-herb kick.
This is the easiest recipe and there are so many things you can do with these cubes (muffins)!
I hope you try this recipe for yourself, and if you do, please let us know how you used your flavor cubes (muffins) by leaving a comment on this blog.
Enjoy and be healthy!

One of our wedding gifts was a selection of very nice French knives – a large cleaver type knife, two general chopping knives in medium and large, a bread knife, and a paring knife. All had lovely wooden handles, full tangs (the metal of the blade extended all the way through the handle), they stayed sharp, and they had exactly the right heft to do the things they needed to do. I speak in the past tense, because somewhere in one of our various moves since marriage, we have managed to lose the paring knife. And, the nature of the paring knife being what it is, that's the one I use the most. I have, within the past 6 months, replaced that knife with exactly the Victorinox you reference above. It is an outstanding paring knife – but, alas, it does not match the rest of my lovely set of French knives.
As to the meditation on cooking – I think I fall somewhere between your two points. Sometimes, I cook in order to produce food – often, in fact – but sometimes, when given the leisure and the desire, I cook for the joy of cooking. And, occasionally, I will be cooking to produce food and will find that I have slipped into cooking for the joy of cooking, and that is glorious.
Lovely comment, Mike! Thank you!

Here's a recipe I have for quick puff pastry. I made them tonight and they came out great. I am so pleased! Next winter I'll try them with apple and quince…
Quick Puff Pastry:
10 oz of unsalted butter
1/2 cup of cold water
1 tsp salt
9 oz of AP flour
1. Cut 8 oz of butter into 1/2 to 1/4 inch cubes, place on a plate and place in the freezer while you pull the rest together.
2. Measure water and add salt; stir to dissolve and set aside
3. Coarsely dice remaining butter. Place flour in work bowl of food processor, fitted with the metal blade; add the 2 oz of butter and pulse until butter is absorbed – about 10-12, 1-second pulses.
4. Add the remaining butter from the freezer and pulse once or twice to distribute. Add the water and pulse 3 or 4 times, just until dough forms a rough ball — don't over-process.
5. Flour your work surface and scrape dough from the work bowl. Shape dough into a rough rectangle and place between 2 pieces of plastic wrap. Press down with a rolling pin to flatten, then roll back and forth several times with the rolling pin to make a 12″ x 18-inch rectangle of dough.
6. Peel away the plastic wrap and invert the dough to the floured work surface. Peel away the second piece of wrap. Fold dough in thirds in the width, folding the top third down and the bottom third up, to make a 4″ x 18-inch rectangle. Roll up the dough from one of the 4-inch ends, making sure to roll the end under the dough. Press the dough into a square, wrap in plastic and refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.
