Los Angeles Hotel

January 5, 2010 by

Los Angeles, also known as the City of Angels, is a large city found in the state of California. Simply called L.A. by many, it is the 2nd biggest city in the United States, next only to the Big Apple, New York City. Los Angeles has a city population of 3.8 million, with almost a total of 13 million living in its greater metropolitan area.

Much of Los Angeles’ international charm comes from its status as the world’s leading producer of entertainment. Thanks to Hollywood, a large amount of movies, music, and television productions originate from the city. Many of the globally known production outfits are based here, such as Twentieth Century Fox and Paramount Pictures. Hollywood fans have the opportunity to look into studios and the homes of the stars.

Los Angeles is home to a number of major league sports teams. These include the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, the Los Angeles Kings, and the Los Angeles Galaxy among others. Sports are really big in Los Angeles, with traditional sports having large followings. Newer sports such as windsurfing, rollerblading and skateboarding are also quickly gathering steam.

If you want to get hotel accommodations during major sporting, filming, and musical events, try to book Los Angeles hotels in advance. One of the more popular hotel chains is the Travelodge Los Angeles. Millions of people visit Los Angeles, so you should get a headstart on them by reserving Los Angeles hotels early.

Getting your reservations online is always a good idea. For one, you will be able to compare the prices that the hotels offer. You will also be able to preview what some of their rooms look like. Perhaps most importantly, you will also be able to take advantage of significant Los Angeles hotel discounts on the room rates. So book your Los Angeles hotels today!

I know that the NBA ia a business. However their money is generated through fans buying the high cost seats. An example look how often the NBA the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics make the finals. This not through ordinary trades, but by buying the players mid season that play elsewhere to build at the half way point a winning team. Example, Jerry West now part of the Memphis Grizzles (as a nba player, played for the Laker), so Buss had no problem getting Pau Gasol from the Grizzles and replacing with his younger brother, Marc. Danny Ange and Kevin McHale (both former Celtics player) did the same behind the scene for Garnett, and Ray Allen to help Paul Perice. This leaves a bad taste in the mouth of other Fans that pay to watch an even field, when it is not. The NBA has become not a game for fans to enjoy, but which owners have the money and friends in high places to at mid season rebuild their team. I fell that the field would become more even if no trades were allowed after the beginning of the season.

In 1946, the Los Angeles Dons of the All-America Football Conference started play, lasting four years before folding with the demise of the AAFC. Also in 1946, the Cleveland Rams became the first National Football League (NFL) franchise to locate in Los Angeles. The Rams moved to Anaheim Stadium for 1980, and left southern California altogether in 1995 for St. Louis. The AFL founded the Los Angeles Chargers in 1960 but moved to San Diego the next year. The Oakland Raiders moved to Los Angeles in 1982, only to return to Oakland after the 1994 season.[1] There were problems with the filling all of the 90,000-plus seats in the Coliseum to avoid a television blackout in the Los Angeles area.
Other professional football teams in the city XFL, AFL, USFL, and WFL.

I disagree partly with you, rjboard. I think you are judging Toyota by one fact without including the rest of the car industry. Because if you look at other car companies you will find out that everyone of them had their recalls. Toyota has been and probably still will be the leading producer of cars. And that is not because their cars are cheaper than American or European cars but because they have the best ratio of price to quality and they are leaders in a lot of technologies like production techniques or value chain systems.
