Over the last few years home gardening has become an increasingly popular past-time and hobby. In fact, studies show that home gardening is at an all time high in Ireland right now. In the USA 8 out of 10 households take part in some type of home gardening activity. Obviously from the number of people that are doing it, home gardening is one of the most popular recreational activities in nation.

Most people that try their hand at home gardening plant flowers; at least they start out planting flowers anyway. Roses will probably be the first thought into any gardeners mind, but roses will take extra time and work, and should probably be left to those who have gardened before. When planting flowers many choices are available, such as bulbs, perennials, and annuals.

Edible plants are another big thing in home gardening. Perhaps the best thing about edibles is the reward of eating fresh fruit and veg. The list of edible plants that home gardeners can grow at home is endless. Some of the most popular edible plants in the vegetable arena are, potatoes, peas, corn, carrots, squash, and cucumber. Many gardeners opt for fruits, such as, watermelons, tomatoes, peaches, plums, apples, pears, and apricots. Small fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries usually require less work and less space, making them much more feasible for home gardening. The growing of herbs, most often used as spices in cooking, are growing in popularity every day as they can be grown on window sills; some of the most grown include basil, thyme, oregano, parsley, and cilantro. One of the most important things to watch for when planting edibles is insects and disease, after all, you don’t want to miss out on the feast you will get to enjoy from healthy plants.

There isn’t much difference between home gardening and gardening anywhere else. Plants still need to be planted in a good location. The plants still need water and they still need the same nutrients. Home gardening shouldn’t cause anyone to get nervous. If you do decide to try homing gardening and finding out that you do not have green hands, don’t get discouraged. Get some information, visit a good gardening directory and read up on gardening, and try it again the next planting season.

Many people don’t know it, but landscaping is a form of home gardening. Landscaping covers many different areas and forms of gardening. You can even classify mowing your lawn as landscaping! Keeping in the line of grasses, landscaping nearly always involves decorative grasses, and the great thing about them is they do not take much work to upkeep. Types of grass include monkey grass, pampas, buffalo grass, flame grass, and ornamental millet. Landscaping is not just limited to plant life, but also includes anything done to a garden for decoration, such as adding rocks or stones, putting a small pond, statutes, or a waterfall.

Making Shameless Annual Flowers

For instance flowers like the Poinsettia are known to bloom only during the winter season, more specifically during December. The best way to select the type of annual flowers that you want is to decide which flower varieties you want to see.

Hardy annuals are beautiful plants that will produce flowers even in the cold winter season. These annual flowers have the ability to make all of these occasions seem special merely by the fact of their use. The half hardy annual flowers include torenia, snow-on-the-mountain, blue sage, strawflower, baby’s breath, candytuft, bells of Ireland, celoma, love-in-a-mist, and forget-me-nots.

These half hardy annuals don’t mind damp cold weather but they can’t live during the cold harsh months of winter. While some flower species can’t tolerate lots of hot summer weather the half hardy annuals may sometimes droop for the weather but they will perk up in the later summer months. Since these annual flowers grow well in warm climates you can expect to see them in all of their glory in the late spring and the warm months of summer.

In the fictional form comic books like Batman comics are a firm staple for people of different ages. The character of Batman was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger. An example of this can be seen during the early years of the Batman comics.

As many of the comics of during the 1939 to 1949 period were depicted as pulp fiction the Batman of that period was given many of the traits that for that time. Unlike the other superheroes Batman was not given any super powers or special abilities. The collectible comics are not necessarily batman comics. To make batman’s character seem more human the creators of the series later added other characters to the Batman comics.

Later additions to the cast of the Batman comics are Batgirl who is shown as Police Commissioner Gordon’s daughter Barbara, and Batwoman.

Combining the best of modern technology with the sleek lines of tried and tested cars from the past, concept cars are often tentative feelers put out by automobile companies to test the waters before ‘diving’ into serious production. Concept cars were first introduced by designer Harley Earl of General Motors in the 1950s. Beautiful to behold, concept cars show off radical, futuristic designs, powerful engines and sometimes even controversial technology.

In fact many concept cars never even reach this stage due to impractical design glitches and cost factors. Image is one aspect of concept cars that influences how we live. An interesting example of an old, operational concept car being brought back into service would be the 1954 Ford Lincoln Futura, which after having been stored in the North Hollywood car shop of George Barris came out of storage to rise to stardom as the Batmobile of the 1966 Batman series on the ABC Television Network.

On the same note, current examples for concept cars would be the Mercedes-Benz bionic car (this is said to combine the best of nature, technology and the ever popular DaimlerCrysler engine), the 2006 BMW Mille Miglia concept coupe (based on the earlier BMW 328 Touring coupe and the BMW Z4 M coupe), the Camaro Concept sports coupe (which follows the lines of the first Camaros) and the Chrysler Imperial Concept 2006 (a direct descendent of classic Imperial and Chrysler designs). Sadly, the majority of concept cars are destroyed once their use has been served.
