I have never known TypePad to be free, and I am not sure why you would have thought they were. As an internet marketer, I have had hundreds of clients and only 1 of them used TypePad. WordPress is the best option for blogging. As for the “secure” aspect of TypePad, that is untrue. The one case I have dealt with TypePad, it was hacked in 2 months. WordPress being open source means that security updates are always done and kept up with the times. Thousands of programmers means lots of free security work on the code. Why do you think the White House website started using Drupal? Becuase it is open source and more secure.
