Who’s the cutest baby in the world?
April 2, 2009 by Janet7
Now, before you start thinking that I’m full of myself, let me explain what this is really all about.
In a blog post I made, I talked about the need for your site to actually be related to the links that point to it. One example I gave was the coolest baby on the planet search phrase, versus the miserable failure search phrase.
In the past, searching for “miserable failure” brought up a completely unrelated web page. Due to Google’s new algorithm that does away with the “Google bomb” or “link bomb” effect, that is no longer the case.
My post discussed why this doesn’t work anymore.
In one of the comments on that post, Alex Newell suggested that I setup a site and try to get it to rank for the phrase “coolest baby on the planet”, using the site to test various linking strategies and methods, etc.
Thus my cutest baby in the world site was born.
What I am attempting to prove is that by following the directions Google gives in its Webmaster Guidelines, you can rank a site for a keyword phrase using 100% “white hat” methods.
In the pages of the site you will see outlined the methods I am using, and the progress I am making in implementing each of the steps from Google’s guidelines.
As of right now, the site is ranked #1 in Google for “cutest baby in the world”, but I also want to be ranked #1 for “the cutest baby on the planet”, so I’m still working on it.

In my world of link building, compensation is often offered. That is because I see nothing wrong with paying someone to put up a link for a client, and because I work with clients in exceptionally competitive fields where we’ll be the ones losing out if we try to do things the 100% white hat way. I only make those claims to avoid having this post get turned into a paid link debate…because this post isn’t about the ethics of paid links. It’s about link noise, and how that factors into a paid link campaign. The key here is that when you’re buying links, you have a lot more control. You can set your desired anchor text, tell a webmaster which page to point to, where to put the link, that you’ll hunt him down and kill him if he slaps a no follow on it 3 weeks from now, etc. Thus, the concept of intentionally going after a bit of link noise may seem somewhat strange. You see link noise in most sites’ backlinks of course but you don’t always think about the role that it serves in a profile….

We can general undercut prices from our competitors by 30%. If you have some kind of description, or you can point me to your current site and tell me what it is you want to have done, I can propose you a price and timing.
If you can more or less define the scope, I can give you a fixed price and delivery timing.
